Low carbon technology

An increasingly important area within Rolls-Royce involves identifying, acquiring and developing renewable energy and other low carbon technologies that complement our existing product and services offering.

For low carbon technologies, Rolls-Royce is able to use existing knowledge and skills in areas as diverse as high reliability engineering and marinisation, applying this to the challenge of reducing emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases. In addition, Rolls-Royce is able to adapt existing products to address new low carbon markets such as CO2 compression for carbon capture and storage (CCS).
